Those who are familiar with Russian underground scene might know the name of Yekaterinburg-based musician Kein by his projects SOL MORTUUS, CHURCH OF HOWLING DOG and CHAOTIC BOUND SYSTEMS, and also from his participation in such bands as ZINC ROOM, PROGNOSTIC ZERO, and some others... But this time he has recorded an album under his own name (well, almost), and this album differs in sound very much from what he had been doing before, because it's completely performed on a grand piano without any electronic manipulations. Yes, it's different in sound, but still quite similar in its mood. Here once can hear some melodic elements that Kein uses in his other projects: detached psychedelia of CHURCH OF HOWLING DOG, complete abstraction and fluency of CHAOTIC BOUND SYSTEMS. These aren't tunes that you can hum to yourself, rather, it's constantly morphing stream of sound, from which a rather dark and disturbing atmosphere seeps out – such music could be quite appropriate as a soundtrack to old silent black & white horror films...

Знатокам отечественной индустриальной сцены имя екатеринбургского музыканта Kein может быть знакомо прежде всего по проектам SOL MORTUUS, CHURCH OF HOWLING DOG и CHAOTIC BOUND SYSTEMS, а также по участию в ZINC ROOM, PROGNOSTIC ZERO и нескольких других проектах... На этот раз он записал альбом под своим собственным именем (ну, почти), и альбом этот довольно сильно отличается по звучанию от всего остального, что он делал до этого, поскольку сыгран целиком на рояле без каких-либо электронных обработок. Надо заметить, что отличается он по звучанию, но не по настроению. Здесь можно услышать мелодические элементы, которые Kein использует в других своих проектах: отрешённую психоделичность CHURCH OF HOWLING DOG, предельную абстрактность и текучесть CHAOTIC BOUND SYSTEMS. Но это не те мелодии, которые можно будет напевать себе под нос, скорее, это постоянно морфирующий звуковой поток, из которого просачивается довольно тёмная и тревожная атмосфера, – такая музыка была бы весьма уместна для озвучки старинных немых чёрно-белых фильмов ужасов...
